Zelenskyy Confirms Ukraine Team en Route to UAE for Trilateral Talks

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine’s negotiating delegation is traveling to the United Arab Emirates to participate in a second round of trilateral discussions involving Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington, according to reports.

In a recorded address delivered late Monday, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian officials are continuing close coordination with their US counterparts with the aim of advancing concrete outcomes that could move the peace process forward, as the war with Russia approaches its fifth year later this month.

He confirmed that talks are scheduled for midweek and will include multiple formats. “Today, there was a meeting with our delegation – the guys are already en route. The meetings will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. And not only in a trilateral format, but we will also have our own bilateral format with the United States,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian leader noted that several matters still require alignment, while other aspects demand further discussion. He said Ukraine has prepared its position on security guarantees and added that Kyiv and Washington remain deeply involved in conversations about the country’s reconstruction and long-term development after the war.

Zelenskyy also stressed the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement, calling on Washington to continue supporting dialogue efforts. “It is important that during this time the United States also decisively supports dialogue – all available opportunities for dialogue – and works with the Russian side accordingly, so that Russian strikes and Russian terror do not derail what can be achieved,” he said.

The upcoming meetings follow an initial round of trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi in late January. Those discussions were later described by Kyiv and Washington as “constructive,” while Moscow said the exchanges had begun positively but acknowledged that "significant work ahead."

Earlier on Monday, Zelenskyy met with members of Ukraine’s negotiating team, during which he approved the general frameworks for the upcoming discussions and assigned specific objectives for the talks.
