Russia Includes Five British Nationals in Travel Ban

(MENAFN) Russia expanded its travel ban Tuesday to cover five additional British nationals, accusing London of sustaining an aggressive posture toward Moscow through weapons supplies to Ukraine and what it characterized as deliberate misinformation campaigns.

The Russian Foreign Ministry framed the move as a direct counter to what it described as "provocative" rhetoric from British officials, the deliberate spread of falsehoods about Russia, and London's continued military backing of Kyiv.

"The provocative anti-Russian rhetoric of British officials, the spread of insinuations about Russia, and London's practical steps to pump the Kyiv regime with weapons and military equipment demonstrate the UK's leadership's unabated determination to continue harsh systemic confrontation with our country," it said.

Among those newly blacklisted are journalists, analysts, and business executives accused of amplifying misinformation about Russian domestic and foreign policy and lobbying for intensified international pressure on Moscow. The list also encompasses executives from British firms accused of recruiting personnel for Ukraine-based projects — activity Russia characterized as direct material support for Kyiv.

The Foreign Ministry called on London to abandon what it termed hostile conduct and cease backing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government. Moscow further cautioned that any fresh British effort to tighten pressure or broaden sanctions against Russia would be met with a "decisive response."

Russia added that its entry ban list would continue to grow in response to what it considers ongoing unfriendly actions by the UK.
