Russia Says Seven Died in Ukrainian Strike on Bus in Donetsk region
Denis Pushilin, the Moscow-installed head of the Donetsk region, took to Telegram to offer condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a swift recovery to the injured.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova characterized the strike in stark terms, describing it as a "human hunt."
"Their own are being driven into graves by manhunters through forced mobilization. Ours are being killed by terrorist methods," a Russian state-run news agency quoted her as saying.
In a separate development, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its forces had intercepted and destroyed 354 Ukrainian drones across the country overnight. Ukraine's General Staff offered a contrasting account, stating that Russia launched 198 drones overnight, of which 189 were intercepted or suppressed.
The overnight violence extended across multiple Ukrainian regions. In Kherson, one person was killed and six others injured in Russian shelling, regional Governor Oleksandr Prokudin confirmed. Odesa regional Governor Oleh Kiper reported two people wounded in overnight strikes, while Kharkiv region military administration head Oleh Syniehubov said five people were injured in morning shelling via Telegram.
All battlefield claims made by both sides could not be independently verified due to the ongoing conflict.
